Creativity Often Requires Breaking Rules
There are times when you break a rule without meaning to, and that accidental choice becomes the most interesting part of what you create.
It’s like taking a wrong street while driving and discovering your new favorite place. You weren’t trying to find it, but the mistake led you there.
Imagine a musician is producing a song. She accidentally leaves in a bit of background noise or uses the wrong effect on a vocal. At first, one would think, “I need to fix that.” But after listening again, maybe she realizes it gives the song character and emotion. What looked like an error becomes the signature sound people remember.
Creativity doesn’t always come from perfect planning. Sometimes the best ideas arrive disguised as accidents. Instead of rushing to fix every mistake, pause and ask, “What if this is trying to show me something?”
