About
meditation.ng is a simple place to take a meditation break: pick a length, sit, and mark the day.
Why three, seven, or nine minutes? The durations come from my own practice. Sits of under ten minutes are easier to commit to — you can nearly always find seven minutes — and prime numbers are stickier and more memorable than round ones. Three when the day is full, seven most days, nine when you have room to settle.
The prompts. Each day the app shows one prompt, drawn from the meditations on this site. They are inspired by the spirit of oblique strategies — short, sideways nudges that give the mind something unexpected to sit with. Read the meditation behind the prompt, then sit with it.
The streak. Press “Today I sat” whenever you meditate — here or anywhere else. The app counts your consecutive days, and one missed day a week is forgiven. Life happens; the practice continues.
Your privacy. There are no accounts. Your streak and settings live only in your own browser, on your own device. See the privacy note for the short, honest details.
Add this site to your home screen and the timer works offline — even in airplane mode, which is a fine way to sit undisturbed.
